“Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love.”

Shakespeare’s romantic words were on the card for flowers for the clients’ first anniversary so they were stitched into the custom quilt for their 50th– along with the names of their children and grandchildren. They couldn’t say what they wanted for colors, so I gave prompts: Sunsets? Rainbows? Pastels? When I got to peacock colors, they broke out saying “yes, that’s it.” For a design, the same agreement for starburst. I knew I’d hit magic with Gai Perry’s Tiffany quilt pattern. I enlarged it and brought a peacock feather with me to the fabric store so I knew I was getting the colors right.
