Most important was that the quilt have a grounded feel, nothing flyaway airy in the design. The newly married couple pointed to a terra cotta pot with a cactus inside saying they liked the colors. They wanted nothing too bright which would be jarring, light but not necessarily pastel. Instead, the intricacy of grains of sand, seafoam green, an ocean night sky, and everything washed by the sun.
